IEEE начал работу над Next Generation Base-T
Исследовательская группа начала работать над разработкой требований к протоколам 40ГБит/сек Ethernet или выше для систем на основе медной витой пары
In July the IEEE approved a Call For Interest on Next Generation Ethernet over twisted pair cabling - or NGBASE-T - and a study group will have its first meeting in September 2012. The action confirms the potential for copper cabling to go beyond 10GBase-T and could accommodate 40Gbps or higher. The move will be particularly useful for Ethernet topologies used in data centres as it is likely to be easy and cost-efficient to upgrade.
The Study Group will begin defining further details, such as exact speed level, coding schemes, distances and frequency.
Nexans is actively participating in the group and will post updates as part of The Nexans Technology Network and X-talk e-newsletters.
